Hi PianogirlPlays, sorry you have a challenged relationship with your daughter. Can I ask how old your daugher is?
The age of a child is important tbh. I have gone through some challenges myself, however, I know my daughter really did not understand PTSD either. I did my best to raise her, but no parent is "perfect". I made sure that when I did talk to her that I did not just reply "defensively", but instead did my best to listen to "her" hurts. Because I learned to "listen" and validate her feelings, it made her more open to understanding the "reasons" why certain things were not perfect.
Right now it is important that you work on yourself and "heal". Even that is showing your daughter something you may not realize. They sure do learn a lot from us.
