It took me a year of begging and trying everything else before I got klonopin. My clinic has a pretty anti benzo policy. Addiction issues, horrible withdrawal for some people when they go off of them. Government tightening up things. Worries about liability (that's the big one I think).
I told them it was unethical for them not to give me something we knew would work very well after trying everything else. I was suffering horrible anxiety that brought on paranoia and was putting me very close to the edge of suicide. Depression I can handle but not anxiety. He relented and gave it to me. I love my pdoc but he has pressures from his bosses at the clinic.
