Some studies I was reading showed how memory is stored in the body so it is not just in our mind but in our body too. So when you feel like running in the corner and screaming, you might just be feeling the memory itself wanting to be released.
Do you ever talk to the feeling and ask it what it wants to say? This is my non professional approach. Perhaps this is more suitable to do with your therapist.
