I think you're going to get quite a mixed bag of results here. For me personally, Cannabis was neither here nor there. Sure it chilled me out but I definitely still got depressed and suicidal whilst I was smoking it. I had a couple of strong panic attacks which weren't worth the chilling effect.

As with any drug, there is a risk involved when consuming Cannabis for the first time (whether for medical or recreational purposes) so I'm not going to advise he tries it out, that's not something I'm comfortable with doing. However, there is some good evidence out there to suggest a moderate efficacy in the treatment of a handful of conditions. The relaxant effect could certainly be beneficial.
