I do hope you go and discuss your feelings about the session and your family member with your T.
It may very well be the case that your family member needs therapy and other help, but if you don't take care of your own needs, with the help of your T, you won't be in any position to help anyone else. It's not selfish to take care of yourself.
My mother actually needed therapy much worse than I ever did but she wasn't made that way. All of her children ended up in therapy.
If I'd dropped out because she had such big problems, I'd be a mess today. I might not even be alive. Sometimes it just makes far more sense to keep taking care of ourselves than to put our lives on hold because someone else in the family may be more disturbed than we are.
Unless the other family member is your minor child, there's not much you can do for them. If it is your minor child, you definitely could use the advice of your T on how best to proceed.
