once upon a grey disturbing night
lay a girl in a bed inside a dark and empty room
with the door closed tight she could sense herself drifting into slumber
when alas footsteps in the hall woke her in fright
laying so very still in bed with eyes tightly closed
she listened intently to the footsteps looming ever closer to her bedroom door
as they approached the doorway the got slower until they came to complete silence just outside the door
with fear growing stronger and stronger inside of her
she wished herself away and deep inside her mind she took herself to far off places
fantasy came true in her mind while outside in the real time her body took a beating
it survived all horrors this monster could give to her
over and over every night she somehow managed to wish herself away so she could bear the tourment
though confusion wore on throughout the day she managed to get by
and one day move away
finally she felt this would all be over now
how wrong she was
at night she could no longer dream of the fantasies that saved her from childhood
her body was calling out sending her images of what had gone on
whilst she was away in her dreams
the pain grew strong
the desire to rid herself from this world did too
how would she ever survive this..........
