Early life experiences of abuse can be a trigger for mental illness, particularly if you have a genetic predisposition to it. It disrupts a child's sense of security and safety, causes feelings of shame.
I was not sexually molested myself but witnessed rapes and have other issues in my background and know and believe it was a catalyst for my mental health problems.
Take care of yourself, be gentle with yourself. I am sorry to hear you had such a difficult series of abuses. You didn't deserve to be treated that way.
