I think for chat as it has become (or always was, I don't know), it is of importance to know we are all individuals. Just because one person treats you bad, the next might treat you right. It is quite crucial for your own wellbeing if using chat, to know which people rarely or never offer support. Then it will not hurt as much if those particular people say negative things. The worst you can do is assume that everyone is the same, and it seems that you have concluded that many are not "against" you, which is a good thing. Trying to get a kind word out of some, like in real life, is like trying to squeeze water out of a rock. It is better not trying.
