What helped with me is when my therapist wrote down a possible and impossible list. List the proof you have for each of them. List other possibilities for the connections. It really help me to see things from a different perspective. also when you see the connections they are sorta fleeting panicky thoughts. This way you are forced to acknowledge each connection and break it down instead of letting them all compound. Hope this helps.
