My daughter suffered a lot of depression as a teenager. She wanted out of her high school. She told me one day that if she stayed there she would end up being a coke head like all these other girls. That was all it took for me. So I got her in online school.
This was in CA and we used K12 as well. It didn't cost a thing and in fact they provided a computer and all the materials for free. In CA the school system had to pay them. She did ok with it but in the long run it was not great. The main reason being that she was at home all the time and that tends to make depression worse. Also you have to be self motivated unless your parents are really holding you accountable. Self motivation is very hard when depressed. I don't regret it at all and she did pretty good. She did not get enough credits to graduate and she did not graduate with her class. She decided on her own that she didn't want to get a GED and wanted a full diploma so she went to an adult continuing education school and got her diploma. They had a big graduation ceremony and I was so proud. She was so proud. She did it and she loved that school. Now she is in community college with a 3.5.
Don't give up. If you get behind or don't graduate on time. So what. Just keep going in the right direction.

I really liked their program.
