I love my dying black Labrador and comfort and pet him a lot. My woman friend says "why don't you pet me like that?" I explain that the dog is capable of accepting love and showing thanks without talking back or criticizing. So in effect I love the dog (his name is George) more than people. Is that bad? Is it a reflection of my personality problems? I will miss him. What do you think?
