I don't blame you really. Overall, Kansas is a weird state. Our weather is EXTREME; going from lows in the range of -10°F to highs over 110°F. We have severe storms with 80+ MPH winds, tornadoes.
The flat land leaves very little to see as far as scenery, but the skies are clear and you can stars and gas clouds and even pick out passing satellites at night. Oh, and our state bird doesn't even live in a tree, they're ground nesters.
The people here are, at best, a dichotomy. Interacting with them in general you'll find they tend to be live-and-let-live, but then turn around and we have the Phelps clan out of Topeka.
We're horribly moderate politically, but then vote Sam Brownback in as governor for a second turn.
It's just a wild, wacky state I live in
