I had to take care of my dad but he had Alzheimer's, so it is a little different process. He was very independent and we had major battles, including my having to take his truck keys away and having to put him in a nursing facility. I would suggest getting counseling if you aren't already to help you work through the issues with your dad. It's so hard to look at the issues objectively when it's one of your parents.
