How do people feel about widows wearing wedding rings ?

Is it normal to keep wearing your wedding ring, after your husband has died ?

We were married 39+ years, but now I'm not sure about wearing the ring.

I tried taking it off but I felt so bad I put it back again. Does this sound normal ?
