In Tampa (FL), the local government has declared that today is Kindness Day. It's sad that we have Kindness Day to remind the people to be kind to one another.

On the national level, today is: National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day; National Ding-A-Ling Day (I'm not making this up); National Gingerbread House Day; National Ambrosia Day; and National Poinsettia Day.

So, put on an ugly Christmas sweater, call a friend, make a gingerbread house, eat a fruit salad, and plant Poinsettia.
