Yep, those idioms are killers.......love the one in Spanish for "shut up"...."En Boca cerada no entra mosca"....translation, "In a closed mouth no flies will enter".....I'm sure there are more direct wordings....but that was the diplomatic way of saying it.

When you get technical regarding mental illness & other medical terms....that's a whole other world & it is necessary to know their dialogue way of talking about it or it could make for bad feelings (or worse).

It sort of like when foreign people try to talk to us about technical things & don't know the terms in English....it can be entertaining...& confusing to figure out what they are talking about.

I had to go to a new pain specialist this year & the Physician Assistant was from China.....I have migraines that never end.....She asked me a question using some term I can't remember now.....but it left me scratching my head trying to figure out what in the world she was asking me about. When I finally figured out what she was asking it left me smiling with a little chuckle thinking ah, that's how they say in in the Chinese language.
