Ok so update for anyone who has an Auvi-Q epipen. You CAN take it out of the case. It will start talking and say "if not ready to use replace this in outer case". Do NOT pull off the red tip as that will activate the pen, but you can take the "brick" out of the case. There is a small window that shows you the liquid epinephrine where you can occasionally check for color and clarity and replace. Thanks for you guys help!
