If you're wanting to stay optimistic, keep a journal, write in it every night but only fill it with positive things. Every day write something different that you're grateful for, gratitude is one of the best ways to be happy. Write down all of the things that went right, any compliments you were offered. Anything and every good that happens to you should go in it.
What you'll probably notice as you read back over your journal is it get easier and easier to fill up as time goes by you'll be training yourself to look for the good in life. That's you're RAS at work.
