Now that 25I-NBOMe is known about on the street by the DEA and they know the molecular formula it is an illegal class one drug. So some bio chemist is going to change it slightly so its legal again. The exact chemical formula will not be illegal. He is not changing it to make it a cleaner better drug but only to make it legal. He has no idea what that change will mean to the people taking it. He isn't doing clinical trials.
So 2-(4-iodo-2,5-dimethoxyphenyl)-N-[(2-methoxyphenyl)methyl]ethanamine
Becomes 2-(4-iodo-2,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-N-[(2-methoxyphenyl)methyl]ethanamine
Just move one group over one carbon. No one has any idea what effect this will have. By doing this they stay one step ahead of the DEA.
