OMG I am so furious at my son's band teacher at school right now. He had to make a choice to attend a required meeting that is going to get him a 2 year college scholarship in the field of his choice - over attending his band concert that counted as his final exam. He told the band teacher ahead of time that he would have to miss the concert, because of the importance of this meeting and his FUTURE, and she said too bad so sad basically you get a zero which will make his grade a C. Now after we've been to the meeting we find out that he can't have any C's or below to be in the program for the scholarship. So he is screwed now. He didn't TELL me that he had to make this decision until tonight. Now I am sick to my stomach that no matter what he would have done, he would have screwed his future. Take the final keep your A, don't go to the meeting and don't get the scholarship. Skip the final and go to the meeting, lose the scholarship. This is SO WRONG. I am going to throw up. Trying to calm down and get grounded agian so I can figure out what to do. How in the world can that teacher do this, not give him any alternative for the final? We can't afford college. this was going to be his summer job, and now it's all down the toilet. I am so mad I am shaking. My son just told me a few minutes ago, and I told him to tlak to his school counselor, but I don't thiknk he is going to do it. He just wants to let it go. This is his ****ing FUTURE and I am so angry I want to scream. Thank you for letting me vent.
