One psychiatrist proposed to me that he thought I had atypical depression. It sure resonated with me. I thought it gave the best description of what I go through. SSRI's never helped me at all. This pdoc wanted me to try a MAOI. When I saw the dietary restrictions, I didn't think I could handle it. Plus I've always been somewhat helped by tricyclics.

Now, I'm wondering if maybe I didn't miss the boat. I would like to know what MAOIs actually do for those who find them helpful. It's the one and only class of psych drug that I've never tried. Maybe I should try it.
