I had an idea last night while I wasn't sleeping. My parents and I have been estranged for the past year, but we're starting to communicate again. They travel eight months out of the year, and they'll be gone from Christmas through March. I'm going to ask them if I can live in their house while they are gone. They live in another town, so it will be hard with my kids and school, but it's a way to get out of this situation.
