As many of you know, I applied for disability about three years ago--November of 2011. I kept getting denied, so in June of 2012, I got me a lawyer who appealed the denial for me. In August of last year, we had a hearing before a judge and in the following November, (2013) I got a notice of unfavorable decision, so my lawyer appealed that. Well, yesterday, over a year later, I got a notice from Social Security stating that they decided NOT to review my case and that they consider the judge's decision to be final. My lawyer isn't sure he really wants to take it to the federal and, even if we did go that route, I would have to pay a $450 fee! So, I guess that's it.
