Hi, Nature1968. I was diagnosed with perimenopause when I was around 45. I was still having periods but had a low estrogen level. It was still a few years before my periods stopped. I do know that as long as you are having periods you can get pregnant. After the periods stopped there's no guarantee that you won't get pregnant, at least I don't think there is. I had my tubes tied when I was 42 to be safe. My periods just started getting irregular until they finally quit. It is nice not to have to go through them anymore.
