I get the feeling recently from reading that combinations of medications are being used more commonly, especially for people who haven't responded to several or many trials of single meds.

I'm currently taking Emsam, Abilify, Provigil, and Xanax; and Seroquel for sleep.

I think it's often trial and error; if the combination of medications works for you, then they're probably what you need, especially if other meds haven't worked in the past. If you have a pdoc you trust, then you can always ask further questions, too, to resolve any worries you have about what you're taking.
