I just went to the local farm supply store and bought a "Petsafe" electric fence. I came home, strung it around the problem areas of my privacy fence where the dogs have dug out, and hooked it up, put the collar on my older dog (who was out of the yard when I got up this morning, sitting in the neighbor's driveway!)....I checked to see that the fence was working, and put the collar on Kelley. I just heard a high-pitched "yelp" a few minutes ago, and went out to find Kelley looking rather stupefied!
The Golden Retriever puppy stayed in the yard this morning, despite Kelley's escape, after I took her down the dug out hole and scolded her last night. She is so sweet and such a fast learner!
The electric fence kit just came with the one collar, and I am hoping not to have to invest in a second collar, already having paid $170. I plan to switch off the collar from dog to dog instead, hoping this will work. A second collar is $70.
But if I continue to have a problem, I'll get the second collar.
Dog escape problem solved...I hope!!!
