I can get disoriented at times when talking. Typically what happens with me is that my mind is running so fast that I can't keep up with the words coming out of my mouth. I tend to not ramble my words though, I stop talking and will get animated with my hands and grunt in frustration that I can't speak as fast as I want to. When I try to start back up, I get only so far before having to stop out of frustration again. Fortunately I'm usually talking to people who know me, so they can help fill in some of the blanks or ask leading yes or no questions. I also have a tendency to stutter when I'm depressed, confused, anxious, or highly stressed. I hate it because it is a dead give away for my therapist as to what I'm feeling.

My speech changes with my mood, but my therapist also has commented about how certain medications have caused changes in my speech patterns. Some have made me more edgy or more calm. At times, I've felt like I'm speaking in mud and she swears I'm speaking at a normal speed.
