Hello,

I'm writing you to ask you the following:

How do you know, with absolute certainty, whether someone has bipolar disorder? I guess the most accurate and free-of-error way would be to have a genetic (genome) testing?

I'm asking because my sister was hospitalized and diagnosed with bipolar disorder this year, and I would like to know if that could happen to me as well. I would like to know if I'm at risk, in other words, if I have "latent" bipolar disorder, that could be triggered by something. Also, I would like to make sure that my sister INDEED has bipolar disorder, that it is not a "misdiagnosis".

So again, what is the best way to know without any doubt that someone has bipolar disorder, or is at risk at having bipolar disorder?

Please help!
