All dreams are the result of our daily way of thinking. Just as you would find it difficult to sleep well if there were a war raging outside your home, when the psychological aspects of yourself are not at peace with the ideas you give yourself, you will not sleep well and have peaceful dreams.
Being strangled by Mom would indicate that your own inherited beliefs are working towards denying you access to greater intelligence. (strangling cuts off your air). The dark figure in the house can refer to ideas that are lacking in intelligence that have gained entry into your mind. (no light in them) Killing innocent people implies terminating ideas in which there is no malicious intent. [Do certain ideas that are really quite harmless conflict with what you were taught to believe?]
