Last year I gave my t a watercolour painting I made. I was terrified about giving it to her, but I built up the courage and gave it to her anyway - even if it was given in an awkward way, by a very awkward person! She accepted it really sweetly. This year I gave my t a handmade card with a letter inside. She emailed me later to thank me for it. There's so much variation in what ts will accept and how they will react. If you're unsure, there's no harm in asking your t first if they accept gifts or cards.
