Today I learned from one of my volunteers that her boyfriend, who is a good friend of mine, has been verbally and emotionally abusive to her for some time. He even threatened to "kill her and her children" while he was drunk the other night.

Also, I learned that one of my family's oldest and dearest friends was diagnosed with cancer.

Hey at least my crime watch captain got 270 bags of heroin, $7000 in cash, stolen handgun and one murderer off the streets with our "Illegal dumping" camera system.
