DID is the outcome of severe abuse during childhood. So if you are triggered you go back to that time and you may have formed a part to cope with that trauma so that it is hidden from you. Can't say I have heard of switching genders though. Whatever you did to cope is fine. True DID's in my opinion are not aware of their switching. Be well.
