I've been on Lamictal for 7-8 years and noticed some problems with my memory, focus, multi-tasking, etc. In July my pdoc put me back on Seroquel and I was freaking out about weight because I had lost a ton when I came off of Seroquel so he put me on Topamax (got up to 100mg). Things got really bad. What I could accomplish at work was like half of what I use to, I couldn't remember conversations with my husband. So a week ago I saw my pdoc and I was like what the heck is going on? Well if, and I say if I understood him right, BP is like epilepsy we are constantly having seizures without the physical affects. So basically a ton of activity, so for me I cannot sleep. Anyways, lamictal and topamax are anti-convulsants and therefore these are the effects that these medicines have. So I'm being weaned off of the topamax, can't do it anymore. I'm going to stay on the Lamictal and the Seroquel. I'm crossing my fingers I don't gain any weight, especially since he had to up the Seroquel another 100 mg so now I'm on 400 mg.
