I'm only on page 31. Year 1988. Looks like it ends summer 2007. Starting out she is in very dark areas of her life. Parents argue a lot, but in public portray to be normal. There is alcohol including her, as well as drugs, and she will do anything for them. She takes water bottle to school with vodka in it and school mates call her crazy, and she will act crazy in front of them just to get laughs, like she doesn't care about anything in including her appearance including cloths. Recently I read while walking to school, everything started out just fine until she felt/saw bugs all over her including her face. She jumped down on the ground, rolling over & over until bugs went away. Of course after that her cloths were a mess. She is telling her story and how she personally feels about self, and all things/people around her. She it having such a hard time, it's hard for me to keep up with what is happening or happened in the past. Anyway I'm sure you can read reviews on-line which I have not done. Again I am on page 30 of the 290 page book.
