Ehhhhhhh, Stop... A toxin is an toxic substance, a bacteria is an animal, a very small, simple animal, but still an animal. As is a virus. Antibiotics will kill bacteria, but they are useless against viruses. Viruses and bacteria can be seen via microscopy - it's pretty much proven beyond doubt that viruses cause the flu and common cold.
Of course there's no reason why one would have to treat colds with Western methods. The old ways work better for colds anyway...
