I understand that with this type of history it's difficult to start therapy at all and especially when you don't know how stable this process will be because there are different factors at play that you can't control. I'd suggest to spend some time getting clear with yourself about what you want your therapy to be like, what type of setting and what type of therapist you want and then to spend a good amount of time doing your research on the therapists who practice in your area, interviewing them on the phone and by email. Once you've done that, pick out a few candidates and schedule appointments with all of them. Then pick whoever you "click" with. Don't rush this process. Take your time.
