Yes, my knees, especially my left one give me lots of grief with feeling swollen and aching. Many times it doesn't look swollen but it feels like it is.
You should talk to your GP about the one Excedrin in the morning and your liver issues. I would think that it may be okay, but since I'm not a doctor, I could be very wrong.
I know you have issues with meds and some of them don't treat you well at all. I'm on Cymbalta and Lyrica. The Lyrica has helped a lot but when a weather front passes through, nothing really helps. Are you experiencing any low pressure weather or expecting some any time soon? That could be one reason why your knee is acting up.
Do you have a walker by any chance? It may help you get in and out of your recliner much easier. When getting into the recliner, keep your knee straight and use the walker to give you the leverage you need to sit in the chair.
The same for getting up out of the chair, try to keep your knee straight and lean on the walker to help lift you out of the chair. Just be careful.
Oh, another thing about the swelling knee....ice 20 minutes/heat 20 minutes. You may find the swelling goes down and the pain reduces if you do this a few times a day.
