I can usually acclimate to climate pretty quick. So far it has been a warm winter here in Northern Michigan (30's). Tonight it is getting down to 4 degrees, so a big change fast and that for sure makes it more difficult.
All the years I lived in central CA I had to get used to the summers and work outside in it. We are talking 105 degrees for weeks at a time and working right in the bright sun all day. By the end of the summer I could pick up a piece of black iron pipe bear handed that had to be 160 degrees and not feel it.
You get to where you close all the blinds and crank up the AC and hide from the sun all you possibly can. Actually the first hot week of spring in CA always triggered a depression for me. A bad one. Every year. This would be in May when it got into the 90's. It's the first big shock of heat after perfect temps all spring.
