Many of the med's manipulate our mood and as such indirectly will affect our emotions. Remember, however, that emotions are directly connected to what and how we think. Having said that, I totally understand what you're feeling. It is for this reason that I have fought, on several occasions, to stop taking the ADs. I find that they dull the senses and suppress both the happiness as well as the sadness. A recent adjustment (Latuda) meant a significantly reduced dose of Effexor and I'm delighted to report that quite a lot of that missing emotional energy has returned. So, as was recommended earlier in this thread, seek the help of a pdoc and work on finding the drug regimen that serves you. Include your boyfriend in the process; have him monitor your mood and chart it for you. Perhaps if he was invested in the process he might feel differently about your challenges.
