I told my GP about 5 months ago and i don't regret it AT ALL. It saved my life. I'm 16 and i've suffered with anorexia for 2 and a half years, and thank God i told him just before things started going downhill. My GP just asked me questions about how it all started and about my behaviours, then i said i wasn't thin enough for help, and he calculated my BMI and told me stories of other patients he'd had. He was so nice and kind to me, and he referred me to a psychiatrist. (I went to the public health system here in Spain, i don't know how it works in other countries) I didn't tell him i was anorexic right away, just told him the symptoms and how i was feeling, and he told me it was clearly anorexia, as i wasn't bingeing/purging and stuff. Tell him about the symptoms and why you want to get help, not about the label. The label isn't important, it's just something they use to help you better. Good luck! Feel free to talk to me whenever you need it!
