I think this expresses what a lot of us feel. We're taught to wait, that the time to be loved and happy is supposed to be there for us, but we never feel like it is.
I do, though, see hope in the last line, though I'm not sure you meant that. As long as we don't give up, someday we'll get tired enough of waiting to begin the long journey to bringing all that's beautiful into our lives.
The antidote to waiting to me is persisting. Change takes a lot of time. It feels like waiting when really we're making a slow, painful climb up to the top of a mountain. The difference is in trusting that there's something beautiful there for us, which is different from waiting, when we don't actually believe that there ever could be anything beautiful for us.
