No matter what I've ever been involved in that also involved other people, it has always ended badly. Whether it was paid work, volunteerism, casual contact with acquaintances, or even family (way back when I still had some), sooner or later it all went down the crapper. Sometimes it was me becoming incensed over some perceived injustice that was being done to some vulnerable group or individual. Sometimes it was as a result of my personal incompetence or lack of tenacity, or just my inability to deal with people on an ongoing basis.

So my gift to humanity is to just keep to myself... no employment, no volunteer efforts, no acquaintances, & no attempts to develop friendships. And, family, well... time has taken care of that one. They're all dead, (except my wife.) With me out of the picture, there's at least one teeny tiny burr out from underneath the public saddle, so to speak! In the whole scheme of things it doesn't amount to much. But it's what I have to give.
