I have GAD and I also have the same tendency to stress out over things that I have to do in the future. I will tell you what has helped me. Along with therapy, I read books and information on living in the now and meditation. One book is called The Power of Now by Eckert Tolle. The other book is called Wherever You Go There You Are by Jon Kabat-Zinn. Both of these books help us to stay in the moment and to live our lives free from anxiety. It might be worth a try as it has helped me. They are both paperbacks and not expensive on amazon. Hope this helps some.
