I changed from Risperdal only to Seroquel only a few months after a big manic episode, and I did not like it and went back to Risperdal. My pdoc says I did not give the Seroquel enough time (a week) before going back. Mainly, I felt like I was freaking out- about to hallucinate back into full blown mania/psychotic break.
Your results may very. This was just my experience. Seroquel helps many, and it does not sound like you are in a Type one Manic Episode (I would not be able to post on a message board in this state or sit still long enough to do anything).
Best of luck and keep us posted. Thanks,
moogs
