Everybody is different…so I can’t decide for you. But, sometimes I get like this and I have to take the time off. I try to make a deal with myself. If I take the time off, then I have to go to work the next day and be productive—no moping and hanging out in the coffee room. Sometimes I just need a day or two off to recharge my batteries—there is nothing wrong with that—I refer to them as mental health days. What does not do any good is to stay at home, worry about things and get stressed. A mental health day for me only works if I really, truly take the day off from work—don’t think about it, don’t worry about it—don’t feel guilty about it. And then, when I go back to work, I am the busy bee.
