I too think it is up to the individual person. It depends on the severity of the issues. Face it, some of us need a pdoc and a T and a regular doc. However, my brother manages his issues with just his regular doc and wild horses could not drag him to a counselor or T. I am a firm believer that if a person is going to be on a combo of psych meds that it should be handled by a pdoc. However, there are some regular docs who take an interest in pscyh issues and stay up to date on the meds, so I guess it really depends on the client and on the doc.
