i have heard of this on many occasions but usually when people part on good terms. the only reason for remaining in the same home is typically financial. some do it for the kids. but if it is unsafe, surely finding alternate arrangements even if uncomfortable is a better solution. the court certainly cannot demand that you stay in the same home after divorce. one of you can choose to leave it until it sells. be safe.
