I should have mentioned that two... I was originally responding to the idea that you spend all of your free time reading... but your non-free time, taking care of the house and kids, is also not only a lot of work but a very very important function. Kids are our future, I believe so strongly in education, parenting, etc. If that turns out to be your only "purpose" in life then that is a very important accomplishment.

Which is not at all to say that you can't or shouldn't pursue other things that may be of interest to you. But do that because you want to explore some interest, not because you feel like your time is "wasted".

Personally, I think after dealing with kids and cleaning up after them, an appropriate activity would be "soak in bathtub for two hours until fingers get all pruney" . If you still have the energy and desire to read you are doing very well. It is depression that is making you think otherwise.
