Kindhearted, many people have this kind of obsessive thinking, where thoughts snowball into complete scenarios that one part of you knows are completely made up and another part of your mind just can't stop the ball from spinning into ever more complicated and upsetting patterns. When that happens, your entire body, including your adrenal glands, start responding as if everything is really happening and it can really impact one's moods and vitality. It feels pretty bad, but it doesn't mean you're going crazy.
It does mean you can use some help. You might need some medication and counseling to help you deal with this. Ripose gave you a good list, a place to start.
If you have a primary care physician you can also make an appointment and ask for a referral to a psychiatrist and therapist. It's good to get help with this sort of thing as soon as you can. I wish you well.
