Ibuprofen competes heavily for binding to protein plasma in the blood. If someone is on LiCo3 and takes ibuprofen it kicks the lithium off the plasma protein quickly and rapidly increases the free lithium in your system which can be dangerous. You can take it regularly under the supervision of a doc as your system will upregulate plasma protein in order to accomodate both over time.
